May 5, 2007- History
was revisited, remembered, and in some cases rewritten as over 150
past and present Corvette Cleveland members gathered to celebrate
its 50th Anniversary.
The evening started as
attendees starting arriving, over 50 Corvettes were driven to the
event, each receiving a special recognition plaque. Then prior
to festivities beginning, everyone gathered outside for a group
photo.
A buffet dinner was served
followed by dessert, our "CC" cake-which if you didn't get early,
you missed out on!
A presentation followed
which first remembered remembers that had passed. We then
presented awards to a number of people in the following areas:
Advertiser Recognition, Club Officers for 10+ years, Most Offices
Held, Travel Awards, Early Members, Honorary Members, 25th Reunion
attendees and Life of the Party. A review of each decade took
place, with a brief mention of something triggering a another story.
We then awarded the reunion "people's choice" award for attendee's
favorite Corvette driven to the reunion. Also given away was a
National Corvette Museum membership.
The rest of the evening was
catching up and reminiscing.
